Members of the Founding Parliament (FP) movement are suffering political persecutions over mass public unrest of April 24, the FP said in a statement.
Under the criminal case on organization of public unrest on April 24, some members of the movement were summoned to the investigator to get familiarized with the results of the examinations that were held after their detention earlier in April. The FP members exercised their rights and refused to appear before the investigator. In response, the Investigation Agency threatened the FP members with a change of the measure of restraint against them (from the recognizance not to leave into arrest).
The authors of the statements say on July 2, Zhrayr Sefilyan, Garegik Chugaszyan, Pavlik Mnukyan, Varuzha, Avetisyan and Gevorg Safaryan visited the Investigation Agency,
where they were informed of the results of a range of examinations. "A FP member Aram Hakobyan was also summoned despite illness and had to appear before the Investigation Agency not to face arrest," FP said.
To remind, on April 7, the Investigation Committee of Armenia disseminated a statement on the detention of Artsakh War Hero, coordinator of the Founding Parliament (FP) Zhirayr Sefilyan, members of the FP, Varuzhan Avetisyan, Pavel Manukyan and Sefilyan's brother Toros Sefilyan were detained on suspicion of organizing mass unrests for April 24, 2015. The detained members, Pavel Manukyan and Gevorg Safaryan went on a hunger strike protesting against their unlawful detention, but stopped it soon after. They were set free on May 4 on recognizance not to leave. The Movement seeks to shift power in the country.
