Karabakh war veteran Vladimir Arakelyan has urged Armenian oligarchs to donate money for the needs of the army.
"Our oligarchs would do more good for us if instead of building new churches, they established a fund to support the army," Arakelyan told journalists on Wednesday.
He doubts that there will be a new war in Nagorno-Karabakh as the militarist statements made by the Azeri authorities are aimed mostly at improving their image in the eyes of their own people.
Arakelyan blames the Armenian authorities for the continuing exchange of fire on the contact line. "If they signed a peace agreement, there would be no such threat," he said.
On July 12 the Azeri Defense Minister said that "Azerbaijan has no alternative to strengthening its army and liberating its occupied territories."
Most of military and political experts say that this was just one more attempt by the Azeri authorities to brainwash their own people.
