frames of the official visit to the Republic of Armenia the President of the Republic
of Serbia

According to the visit program the delegation
headed by the President Tomislav Nikolic visited the Ageing Cellar of the Yerevan
Brandy Company, where he was introduced to the rich history and production process
of the Armenian brandy Ararat.
The President
stopped at the Peace Barrel, founded in 2001 in honor of the co-chairs of the
Minsk Group of OSCE, visited factory in 2001. The barrel is called “Peace” as
it will be opened when Karabakh conflict is resolved. Tomislav Nikolic also
signed in Ararat memory book.
As part of
tradition, a special barrel was founded in the honor of the President of Serbia.
Mr. Tomislav Nikolic is the 27th President who has a specially named
barrel in Yerevan Brandy Company.
At the end
of the tour, a bottle of Exclusive Ararat Brandy made from the rarest spirits
of the company has been presented to the President.
Yerevan Brandy Company is the exclusive producer of ARARAT Brandies is
the direct successor of Armenian brandy-making traditions, established in1887.
Yerevan Brandy Company is the biggest taxpayer of the field and the biggest
grape buyer in Armenia. In 1999 Yerevan
Brandy Company joined the Pernod Ricard Group, the world co-leader of the Wine &
Spirits industry, which unites such brands as Chivas, Absolut, Martell, Jameson
and others.
