The Emergency Situations Ministry of Armenia was alarmed late in the evening on Sunday that the River of Hrazdan overran its banks flooding the adjacent settlements. Rescuers arrived on the spot immediately. It turned out that several houses in the village of Jrarat were partially flooded as 6 cu m/sec water releases were launched at 6:00pm on 27 September and 8 cu m/sec - at 3:00pm on the next day.
Director of Sevan-Hrazdan Jrar CJSC, the Hrazdan Mayor, and the supervisor of the Sevan-Hrazdan Cascade were informed of the incident. As of 11:00pm. Intensity of water releases were reduced to 1 cu m/sec and the situation was stabilized.
