Arminfo-RBK. Gazprom has signed an agreement on purchase of 20% share of Armenia in "ArmRusgasprom", information department of Gasprom reported.
As a result of the bargain, Gazprom has increased its share in the authorized capital of CJSC "ArmRusgasprom" up to 100% and the company will be named "Gasprom Armenia".
On 16 January Armenia's Deputy Energy Minister, Iosif Isayan, submitted the draft decision at the government's session. He said that the contract supposes sale of 20,0007% of ordinary shares in an amount of 12 600 000 units and total cost 63,333 billion AMD ($155,6 million). The government empowered energy minister to sign the contract with Gazprom.
He recalled that on 2 December 2013 the government of Armenia signed an intergovernmental agreement with Russia on sale of the rest 20% shares belonging to the Armenian government in CJSC "ArmRusgasprom" to the Russian "Gazprom" at the expense of repayment of debts for gas in an amount of $155 million.
The agreement was ratified by the Armenian parliament and stepped in.
Earlier, Energy Minister Armen Movsisyan said that since 2010 the government of Armenia had been negotiating with "Gazprom" on gas price and accumulated debts in an amount of $300 million for that period of time. The Russian party took half of these debts upon itself.
