Hrachya Harutyunyan cannot be extradited to Armenia for the moment, says Armenia's Justice Ministry.
The Ministry adds that Harutyunyan's extradition will become possible no earlier than he is sentenced to a term in jail. "This is stipulated by the European conventions on extradition and transfer of sentenced persons," says the Ministry.
Harutyunyan's Kamaz collided with a passenger bus near the Russian town of Podolsk on July 13. 18 of the 64 bus passengers were killed. Harutyunyan will be in custody in Russia till Sept 13. If found guilty, he may be sent to jail for seven years.
