A key member of the CSTO, Armenia will continue developing partnership with NATO, Artur Baghdasaryan, Secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia, said at today's conference dedicated to NATO partnership in the South Caucasus.
"We are effectively cooperating with the CSTO and keep on developing our partnership with NATO under a clear action plan. Armenia sees a resource of complementarity between the cooperation with NATO and the CSTO membership and thinks it necessary to move forward in that direction", he said.
In this context, Baghdasaryan stressed the significance of the Interdepartmental Commission that has been coordinating the Armenia-NATO cooperation over the past 6 years and has carried out all the measures under the Individual Partnership Action Plan.
At the March 20-21 conference in Yerevan, experts from the South Caucasus, the USA, Russia, Turkey, Iran, the UK and Spain are discussing regional security problems, prospects for partnership and cooperation, as well as the tendencies of the South Caucasus development. The conference has been organized by Spectrum Center for Strategic Analysis and sponsored by NATO.
