The ex-governor of Syunik region, Suren Khachatryan, has made a final decision to leave Armenia after the scandalous shootout in Goris. Iravunk newspaper says with reference to its own sources that Khachatryan is going to be domiciled in Lyon, France, where his son was studying.
"For the moment he is engaged in moving his business from Armenia and he paid a short-term visit to France the other day. Suren Khachatryan came back from France two days ago and is going to leave Armenia as soon as something becomes clear with the case of Tigran Khachatryan arrested in Goris", the source says.
The newspaper has applied to Mayor of Goris Nelson Oskanyan for reliable information about Suren Khachatryan's departure. Oskanyan replied that he was unaware of the ex-governor's plans. "He has said nothing to me. He often visits Goris and I have repeatedly met him, however, he has not touched on this topic", Oskanyan said. -n-
