Tblisi. During the visit to Prague on April 24-25, where the
5th anniversary of the European Partnership was marked at the EP Summit,
President of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili, stated to the Associated Press
that, in his opinion, isolation of Russia was not the best way for the Ukrainian
crisis settlement.
According to Margvelashvili,
"isolation of Russia will make it even more aggressive, unpredictibale and
dangerous". "The diplomats
must give Russia to understand that relations between neighbors, between
countries in the whole world, should not be based on military
intervention", the Georgian President stressed.
As for Georgia's European course,
Margvelashvili noted that it was "the Georgian People's sovereign
choice" and he co0nsidered it was important to persuade Russia that it was
not "anti- Russian course". According to the Georgian President,
Georgia does not scare of any Russia's revenge on its integration to EU but at
the same time it tries to be vigilant. Margvelashvili also emphasized that in
the XXI century nobody had a right to punish Georgia for its sovereign
choice.
