Tbilisi. First Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia David
Zalkaliani emphasizes importance of initialing of the Associated Agreement with
the European Union and notes that a process of the country's European
integration becomes irreversible.
The EU-Georgia Associated Agreement is
expected to be initialed during the Eastern Partnership Summit, which will be
held in Vilnius on November 28-29.
"This is a historical day for
Georgia. A process of Georgia's integration to Europe becomes
irreversible. After the agreement (on
Association with EU) is signed, our country will be in the frames of
integration with Europe. I note once again that this agreement is not on Georgia's membership in EU, but
Georgia's "Europeization" becomes irreversible", Zalkaliani told
journalists on Thursday, November 28.
Technical initialing of the document will
be held on November 28 in the Foreign Ministry of Lithuania. Some hours will be required for certification
of over 1000 pages of the document. The official ceremony of initialing will be
held on November 29.
