At its today's session the government of Armenia defeated the bill of the Prosperous Armenia Party to raise minimal salary up to 75 thsd drams starting 1 January 2014. The decision of the government was submitted by Labor Minister Artem Asatryan.
He said that according to the mid-term programme of the government for 2013-2017, the size of the minimal salary should grow from the current 45 thsd drams up to 50 thsd drams starting 1 January 2014, in 2015 - up to 55 thsd drams, in 2016 - up to 62,5 thsd drams and in 2017 ut will become 70 thsd drams.
Meanwhile, the day before 29 August, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said when meeting the leadership of Education Ministry that in 2017 minimal salary will become 90 thsd drams.
