The Public Council of Armenia has accepted the proposal of the Let's Pay 100 AMD movement and will hold the hearings on the transport problems in Mashtots Park on Tuesday.
The Public Council's statement sent to ArmInfo says that the Council highly assesses the movement's role in the public transport fare reduction and is ready to listen to the activists' opinion. As regards the activists' new transport model implying a single fare for all types of public transport, the Public Council considers it to be a complicated process.
To note, on July 20 the Yerevan Municipality announced 50% rise in the public transport fare. The decision was suspended following the actions of public protest. Now the activists demand resignation of Head of the Municipality's Transport Department Henrik Navasardyan and Head of Yerevantrans Misak Hambardzumyan.
