If Turkey is really interested in sooner settlement of the Karabakh conflict, it should not interfere with the peace process, Vice Speaker of Armenian Parliament Eduard Sharmazanov says when commenting on Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu's statement made on July 17.
"By his today's statement Davutoglu has confirmed that Ankara advocates pro-Azeri solution to the conflict, not a fair one. Therefore, if Turkey is really interested in sooner settlement of the Karabakh conflict, the only thing it must do is not to interfere with the peace process", stressed Sharmazanov.
To note, on July 17 Ahmet Davutoglu said in Baku that the OSCE Minsk Group must intensify its efforts to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as, unfortunately, there are no results of its long-term efforts." Trend quotes him as saying: "We are always ready to provide the co-chairmen with assistance and must be more active in the process. A meeting of ambassadors of the Minsk Group member-states may be held". He added that it is necessary to "liberate the territories of Azerbaijan" to achieve peace and stability in the Caucasus.
