The total of 354 citizens of Ukraine living in Armenia applied for taking part in the parliamentary election in Ukraine, 102 of which voted, Ukraine's Ambassador to Armenia, Ivan Kukhta, told ArmInfo correspondent.
'So, 70% of the citizens voted for "Pyotr Poroshenko's bloc", the second is Yatsenyuk's "People's front" - about 10%, and the rest parties gained about 0,5 -1% . This is evidence of the fact that citizens of Ukraine living on Armenia have in fact supported the president and prime minister of Ukraine and European integration of this country", - the ambassador emphasized. In this context, he added that Ukraine's citizens living in Armenia have given the vote of confidence both to the president and government of Ukraine.
He thinks that the parliamentary election in Ukraine were democratic.
'All the international institutions that were observing the election, confessed that despite difficulties in Ukraine, 52% of its citizens took part in the election. Citizens of Ukraine took an active part in voting and proved the course towards the European integration once again", -Kukhta concluded.
Snap parliamentary elections were held in Ukraine on October 26. 423 parliamentarians were running for a five-year term: 198 at single-mandate majority constituencies and 225 - by party tickets.
The vote threshold was 5%.
The Central Electoral Commission of Ukraine has counted 82.76% of the votes, and here are the results: Poroshenko's bloc - comprising his own Solidarity Party and Udar, led by former boxing champion Vitali Klitschko - had 21.63% of the vote. The People's Front of Prime Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk was fractionally ahead with 21.99%. Self Help, based in western Ukraine and led by Lviv mayor Andriy Sadovyi, was third with 10.99%, followed by the Opposition Bloc of Yanukovich's former Energy Minister Yuri Boiko on 9.47%. Radical Party obtained 7.45%, and Yulia Timoshenko's Fatherland - 5.7%.
