Armenian Center for National and International Studies (ACNIS) founded by Raffi Hovannisian, the first foreign minister of independent Armenia, currently Leader of Heritage Party, may be closed down shortly, a Yerevan-based Zhamanak newspaper writes.
The paper writes that the ACNIS experts have left it. Only the head of the Center Manvel Sargsyan has remained on his position so far. He explains the situation with financial problems. Sargsyan assures that Raffi Hovannisian does his best to preserve the Center and tries to settle the financial problems. According to the source, the U.S had funded ACNIS previously. Probably discontented with Raffi Hovannisian's policy, the U.S. stopped financing.
