During the parliamentary discussion of the draft state budget 2015, a member of the parliament from the opposition Heritage party, Zarui Postanjan, asked Armenia's Deputy Finance Minister, Pavel Safaryan, about possible consequences after Armenia's joining Eurasian Economic Union.
'We wonder, how much the draft budget has taken into account possible financial consequences in case of Armenia's joining EEU? As a country closely linked with the Russian economy, Armenia cannot stay aside from the consequences of the western sanctions against Russia",- Postanjan said.
Safaryan replied that judicially the state budget 2015 could not be made taking into account the economic consequences of Armenia's joining EEU, as when the draft budget was drawn out, the republic was not a member of this structure. "Nevertheless, we think that the joining will affect financial indices and lead to the growth of prices. At present our specialists have been studying in details all the factors and consequence. I think that the results will be presented at the parliamentary session in December of the current year, that is to say, before passing the state budget", - Safaryan said.
