President of the Union of Russian Armenians, Ara Abrahamyan, said at today's press-conference in Yerevan that he does not trust in the commitments of the Armenian opposition, when commenting on the domestic political situation in Armenia.
"Stability of Armenia is important for me. The Armenian society needs solidarity of the authorities, opposition and Diaspora", - he said. He also added that there are social and economic problems in the country, but nobody wants to resolve them. "Everybody have been criticizing or trying to find omissions in the work of the authorities, but we should help them and try to make our contribution in development of the country", - Abrahamyan emphasized.
He thinks that all the commitments of the opposition are idle reports. "If they have serious programmes and proposals, let them discuss them with President Serzh Sargsyan. I am confident that the president will not hinder fulfillment of the programmes targeted at development of the country", he said. As for the 12 points of problems submitted by the opposition, Abrahamyan thinks that the problems consist not of 12, but 25 and even more points. He said that it is not enough just to submit problems, it is necessary to submit the ways and terms of their resolving.
When commenting on the leader of Prosperous Armenia Party, Gagik Tsarukyan's statement to run for president of Armenia, Abrahamyan said that he knows Tsarukyan, who is a good man and businessman. "But to support a candidate for president, we need to see his electoral programme", - he said. Comparing Tsarukyan and the current President Sargsyan is incorrect, he concluded.
