Armenia is in a heavy situation. It has sunk into a stalemate. The authorities have stalemated the country, Vartan Oskanian, a parliamentarian from the Prosperous Armenia Party, ex-foreign minister of Armenia, said at the ongoing opposition rally in Yerevan.
"Our meeting in the Liberty Square is not an end in itself. The country is in a heavy situation. If nothing is changed, we will lose the country forever. The authorities ignore this circumstance. Furthermore, they try to retain political monopoly through shady Constitutional undertakings. They are not just unready to do anything. They are incapable for anything. They care for their own interests only," Oskanian said.
The ex-minister is sure that nothing can be changed in the current closed system. This system can be broken only through a power change. This is the demand of the day. The presence of so many people is the bright example of it.
"This opposition has enlisted the people's support. We are for a power change through elections. The opposition will be acting in line with the law and the Constitution," Oskanian said.
