The Armenian Parliament's Ethics Committee has
declined the Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center's request to
inquire into the media reports saying that the Parliament's Vice Speaker
Hermine Naghdalyan combines her office with business activities.
The Committee says that it has no such authority.
In Armenia the law prohibits a legislator to have
business, while Naghdalyan is reported to have a number of companies and sand
quarries.
