The ruling Republican Party of Armenia bears the main responsibility for the reforms made in Armenia, and the RPA is concerned about effectiveness of these reforms, press-secretary of the RPA, vice-speaker of the parliament, Edward Sharmazanov, told journalists today. He also added that the RPA territorial structures including its central office should work hard and become a link between a citizen and the power, as President of Armenia, the leader of the RPA, Serzh Sargsyan, said at the RPA congress, on 24 May.
<The president gave us specific terms for making reforms, for ordinary citizens to feel the results of these reforms as soon as possible, and understand that the RPA may resolve their problems. We have been entering a new political period when the role of the political parties will grow. I mean not only the RPA. As President Sargsyan said, we are going towards the bipolar political system in the country", - he said.
When commenting on the statements by several representatives of Armenian National Congress, that Serzh Sargsyan's speech was directed against the leader of Armenian National Congress Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Sharmazanov said: "The speech of the president of the country could not be directed against the man which pensioned himself off at the age of 68".
