Hayk Kyureghyan, who had opened fire near the court and ahead of the first court hearing into the trial of activist Shant Harutyunyan and his companions, has been arrested, the Police press service reported.
According to the Police, on June 12, Yerevan resident Hayk K. (born in 1983) climbed on a car parked outside the court in Downtown Yerevan, and stated that there was a bomb in the vehicle. Subsequently, the young man opened fire with the gun in his hand injuring several police officers, who were hospitalized. But Hayk K. was caught, taken to a police station, and his gun was confiscated,
A criminal case is opened on the incident, Hayk K. is arrested, and a respective investigation is underway.
An observation group had visited Hayk in the detention center, and subsequently announced that he has numerous injuries.
