Tbilisi. On Tuesday, July 16, Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Lithuanian Republic Khatuna Salukvadze handed
over credentials to President of Lithuania, Daia Drybauskaite, the Georgian
Foreign Ministry reports on Wednesday, July 17.
"At the meeting, following a solemn
ceremony in the President's Palace, the sides discussed a wide spectrum of
bilateral and multilateral relations. Importance of Georgia-EU and Georgia-NATO
cooperation was touched upon during the talks. The sides emphasized
significance of the Eastern Partnership Summit, which was due to be held in
Vilnius in November 2013 and expressed hopes for its positive results for
Georgia", MFA notes.
The Lithuanian President reiterated
support to Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and its integration
into European and Euro-Atlantic structures, whished success to the Georgian new
Ambassador in her future activity. In her turn, Salukvadze expressed gratitude
to the Lithuanian side for the support and warm reception.
