Georgia received 770,608 international tourists in August 2013, which is
28% more than a year ago, says Georgy Sigua, Head of the National Tourist
Administration of Georgia.
The number of Armenian tourists to Georgia in August
2013 was the largest - 200,000 people. Then
goes Turkey with 198,000 tourists, Russia - 139,000, and Azerbaijan - 136,000. As
compared to August 2012, the number of tourists from Belarus, Kazakhstan,
Poland, Iraq, Ukraine, and Russia has grown significantly.
Tourists spent in Georgia 1.704 billion lari over 7
months of 2013. The number of
international tourists that visited Georgia in the last 8 months of 2013
totaled 568 million people, which is a 26% more than for the same period of
2012, Business-Georgia said.
