On August 25, a member of the Venice Commission Christoph Grabenwarter said in Yerevan the new Constitution of Armenia should permit semi-sex marriages to meet European standards. This statements sound rhetorical in the case of Armenia, given that in Europe everything started with such statements several decades ago…
Sure, the current legislation has nothing to do with Armenian people, Armenian history or traditions. The legislation being intensively imposed on us will have nothing to do with people either. The matter concerns legislation rather than Constitution. In the USSR we were the first country to clearly declare that it had Soviet laws. That is to say, the grassroots movement clearly realized the role and significance of the legislation in the world, though it also made a rough mistake by taking a lot of things from outside. That mistake later became a dictating mistake. The project implementation offices under the ministries, which are usually financed at the expense of loans, designed programs aimed at destroying the Armenian industry, science, etc. Along with this, the given offices were elaborating laws that put Armenia on the relevant path as directed by the western partners.
In other words, we funded the projects managed by external forces and aimed at enslaving us.
You speak in the past tense, but this process still continues…
Well, for instance, the Venice Commission is nothing but a large foreign office managing the departments that write an Armenian legislation aimed at destroying Armenia. This is not being done against our people only. This is a global trend.
In other words, the idea to reform the Constitution came from the West…
On September 3 2013, Serzh Sargsyan voiced an intention to join the Customs Union, and on Sept 4 issued a decree to set up a Commission for Constitutional Reform. It favored at once President Vladimir Putin and the Western leaders.
I think the "so-called experts" supporting the Constitutional Reform say absurd thing. I am sure that the future Constitution is a crime against humanity, as it does not protect the human rights and freedoms. A human being is turning into an animal with hypertrophied needs for pleasures.
Why does the West need a new Constitution for Armenia if we are already in the situation you are talking about?
Fortunately, this is not so. Over the past 10 years Armenia did not pass a range of the West-recommended laws that could damage such values and traditions as family, church and others, thanks to public protests. These values are marked in the new Constitution as priorities - in fact, it is done a roundabout way - and will be eliminated in future. The same-sex marriages are just one of the mechanisms aimed to eliminate the traditions and values.
What will be Serzh Sargsyan's "take" from the promotion of the Constitution recommended by the West?
First of all, the matter will concern establishment of relevant relations. The draft constitutional reforms of Armenia are first of all of geopolitical nature. Power retention is a secondary purpose. All the talks of his aspiration to become a "secretary general" are nothing but an idle talk on a secondary matter, while our country is being taken away from us. Amid the geopolitical failure of Armenia, the key goal of the West is to fool Russia - the main geopolitical rival of the United States - with myths about the race for power in Armenia. As regards the talks about a secretary general, they aim "to hide the geopolitical core of the problem from the idiots in Russia.
In other words, putting up with Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union, the West is fobbing off a country, which is on a different path, isn’t it?
Of course, it is. It is fobbing off a country whose governance system is much more easily subjected to external manipulation by Russia's geopolitical rivals. I wouldn't demonize the West, because it is overmastered by the same structure of the world governance. We have a lot of to do to have the same situation in Europe, whose civilization is now endangered. At the same time, Europe is now being flooded with flows of refugees, which are gradually sweeping off the political and economic system of the Old World. This is being done by the world governance system, where the first tool is the US Government and the second tool is the UK Government. In the meantime, the impression is that most countries' governments implement first of all world governance programs, and then national ones. Did the attack on Libya meet the national interests of Great Britain and France? Certainly, it did not, because the flows of refugees from terror-stricken Libya have rushed into those countries. It is clear that the decisions were taken in London and Paris but did not at all meet their interests. Two years ago the Russian leadership was an absolutely obedient member of that club. The revolt broke out from the Syrian problem, when Russia and China vetoed the UN Security Council's resolution on Syria. After that, Russia got Ukraine and all that jazz as a punishment for disobedience.
What prevents Armenia from raising the civilizational union with Iran to a strategic level and at least counterbalancing the role and influence of Russia both in security and economy?
The mercantile nature of the Armenian authorities prevents the civilizational union with Iran from rising to a strategic level that would at least counterbalance Russia's role and influence in ensuring security in economy and energy.
Armenians are tradesters and they are accustomed to bargaining everything. Each official and each group in Armenia bargain the interests of the nation, the state, the motherland, and they are ready to sell everything to get wealth and retain their power. Under such conditions, people will be given no opportunity to act independently.
In this light, Armenia in Russia's eyes not as an outpost but as a territory to be developed by Russia, because Armenia cannot even play the role of an outpost. I am sure that as soon as the US offers Yerevan something better than Russians, Yerevan will immediately sell everyone and everything.
Nevertheless, given this identification of our authorities, one should state that the Iranian direction is really a priority for the Armenian foreign policy. Unlike Europe and the United States, Iran, Russia, India and China are Armenia's allies in the fight against the propaganda of false values.
