The Armenian-French high-level talks in Paris are over.
The press service of Armenian President has told ArmInfo that Serzh Sargsyan held a meeting with his French counterpart Francois Hollande at Palais de l'Elysee. The meeting covered a wide spectrum of issues on the Armenian-French agenda, as well as regional and international problems and challenges.
Sargsyan thanked Hollande for initiating the Paris meeting of the Armenian and Azeri presidents.
The sides pointed out that the friendly Armenian-French relations are strengthening with every passing year due to the mutual visits, close interparliamentary ties, expansion and development of decentralized cooperation in all fields of mutual interest, as well as cooperation within international structures.
Sargsyan and Hollande stressed that economic ties are actively developing along with the high-level political dialogue. The investments in Armenia's economy have totaled about 1 billion USD.
Hollande thanked Sargsyan for Armenia's participation in the peacekeeping missions and Armenia's readiness to take part in the operations in Africa under the aegis of the UN.
As regards the Karabakh conflict, Sargsyan stressed that Armenia advocates exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflict. In this light, he added that he highly appreciates the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries' efforts towards promotion of the peace process and establishment of peace in the region.
The meeting of the Armenian and French Presidents was followed by the Karabakh conflict settlement talks between the Armenian and Azeri Presidents with participation of the OSCE MG Co-chairs.
