The upcoming meeting of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will bring no changes to the Karabakh peace talks, Armen Martirosyan, Vice Chairman of Heritage Party, told reporters, on 19 November.
"They will meet, taste Vienna sausages, and go home," Martirosyan said ironically. He thinks the meeting cannot be crucial for the conflict's resolution, as the conflicting parties are interested in the status quo. Martirosyan is sure that the Armenian authorities have too much problems to undertake another one, the Karabakh issue. As for the Azerbaijani authorities, they earn money under pretext of buying arms. Meanwhile, OSCE MG co-chair-countries manage to somehow keep the situation under control.
"The major goal of the meeting is not to lose control of the process. However, it would be good if the co- chairs made tougher statements and calmed down Azerbaijan's aggression," the politician said.
To recall, Sargsyan-Aliyev meeting will take place in Vienna tonight. The meeting is organized by the OSCE MG co-chairs after a two-year interval.
