Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan attended an official reception given by the Embassy of Armenia to the United States on Friday on the occasion of the 23rd year of Armenia's independence.
The press service of the Armenian Government reports that the event was also attended by ambassadors, US State Department officials, representatives of the WB and the IMF and heads of Armenian NGOs.
Abrahamyan congratulated all those present on the past Independence Day. He said that independence was a chance for Armenia to decide its future. "And we have decided that Armenia must be home to Armenians worldwide, a dynamically developing modern country," Abrahamyan said.
He pointed out the support provided by the US-based Armenian community and the US Government since the very first days of independence.
Concerning the Armenian President's call on Armenians worldwide to frequently visit Armenia and to actively inform the world about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the Armenian Genocide, Abrahamyan said that "one of the most democratic nations in the world," Azerbaijan, and its "brother," Turkey, spend millions to spread allegations about Armenia.
The Armenian PM noted that Armenia is attractive for business. "It is a good country and will be even better in future. Armenia is home to all Armenians. There is nothing better for us than Armenia. So, I don't doubt that together we will be able to solve all of our problems," Abrahamyan said.
