Tbilisi. Latvian President, Andris Berzins, is starting his
official visit to Georgia on Wednesday, November 26.
Latvian President arrived in Tbilisi on
the invitation of Georgian President, Giorgi Margvelashvili, late on November
25.
Georgian Foreign Minister, Tamar
Beruchashvili; Head of Georgian President's Administration, David Pataraia,
Georgian Ambassador to Latvia and Latvian Ambassador to Georgia; President's
advisors and Georgian government officials, met the Latvian President at
Tbilisi International Airport.
The official part of the visit will begin
with the official reception at the President's Palace, on Wednesday. Afterwards, a tet-a-tet meeting between the
leaders of two countries will be held. Then, the negotiations in extended
format will be held. Georgian President, Giorgi Margvelashvili and Latvian
President, Andris Berzins are expected to hold a joint news conference after
the meeting.
Latvian President is also expected to meet
with Georgian Premier, Irakli Gharibashvili and Parliament Chairman, David
Usupashvili. Some bilateral documents will be concluded as part of the visit.
On November 27, Georgian and Latvian
Presidents will travel to Ajara, where Andris Berzins is expected to
participate in a ceremony of opening of Latvian Honorary Consulate and a
presentation of investment projects as part of the business-forum. Besides, a
document on twin cities - Batumi and Yurmala will be signed.
Latvian President is also expected to
visit Batumi Maritime Academy, where a cooperation memorandum shall be signed.
Latvian delegation, comprising executive
government officials and representatives of Latvian business circles, will
leave Georgia on Thursday, November 27.
