A two-day meeting of the Education Ministers of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) and Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) member- countries kicked off in Yerevan Thursday, 17 October.
Head of the EU Delegation in Armenia Traian Hristea, delegations from Romania, Russia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine are attending the meeting. A joint declaration will be adopted after the event.
In his speech, Ambassador Traian Hristea stressed the importance of such meetings, which is a very useful platform for discussion of the cooperation perspectives in the European space. Higher education has become of particular importance in the rapidly changing world, he said. Development of the education system in the EaP and effective reforms are in the focus of the EU's attention. The EU has always rendered financial assistance in implementation of various programs for thousands of students, he said. Armenia officially assumed the responsibility of the Bologna Process Follow-up Group Secretariat in from July 1, 2012. Armenia will coordinate the Bologna Secretariat until June 30, 2015.
