The constitutional reforms are just legalizing the plunder Armenia has faced for over 20 years, says Ashot Manucharyan, member of the Karabakh Committee, ex-interior minister, advisor to the first president of Armenia for national security.
Manucharyan points out the immense cathexis experienced by the public "following last year's events on the border with the NKR, the Armenian Genocide Centenary commemorations, and the latest No to Plunder protests." "We cannot realize it yet, but there is a need for fundamental changes," Manucharyan says.
Meanwhile, Manucharyan comes out against the constitutional reforms in general, but he does not specify the most unacceptable parts or provisions of the reforms. "Any legislative initiative or regulatory document adopted in Armenia over the past 20 years has been dictated by "western uncles" and is a kind of conspiracy against Armenia and Armenian people," he says. "The western madmen tell us how to live and at what instances to settle the problems in the country, and we quietly follow their instructions," says Manucharyan.
