Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan Serzh Sargsyan
and Ilham Aliyev have agreed to give a new impulse to the Nagorno-Karabakh
peace process.
The press service of the Armenian President told
ArmInfo that the presidents have instructed their foreign ministers, jointly
with the OSCE Minsk co-chairs, to use the work done so far as a basis for
efforts to intensify the peace talks.
The presidents have also agreed to meet again in the
months to come.
The next steps will be the co-chairs' working meetings
with the Armenian and Azerbaijani FMs in the framework of the OSCE Ministerial
Council's conference in Kyiv on Dec 5-6 2013 and their visit to the region at
the end of this year.
The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs have welcomed the
meeting the Armenian and Azerbaijan presidents had in Vienna on Tuesday. They
said it was the first such meeting since Jan 2012, adding that during their
tete-a- tete meeting and subsequent talks with the co-chairs and the Armenian
and Azerbaijani FMs, the presidents discussed a wide range of questions
concerning the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
