Ucom Company and World Vision within "Keep children in families" joint charity program have provided assistance to a family that lives in Baghanis bordering village, Tavush region, the press service of the company informs. "Keep children in families" program allows Ucom mobile connection subscribers to donate AMD 200 or 500 by sending an SMS to 1234 and 5678 short numbers. At the end of the month, Ucom Foundation doubles the amount and allocates it to implement the program.
"This program allows Ucom mobile connection subscribers to contribute to the strengthening of the country. Ucom Foundation, in its turn, doubles the amount and allocates to families that need it. The program creates a solid foundation that provides stability to farmers and links them to their homeland", Ucom Foundation Director Ashot Barseghyan said.
According to the source within this program socially vulnerable families receive funds and equipment to ensure a stable source of income and opportunity to raise the children in their families.
To note, Ucom LLC was founded in 2007. It is one of the rapidly developing companies in Armenia. Ucom has built the biggest new generation fiber-optic network in Armenia, which gives an opportunity to provide at least three services: Internet, television and fixed- line telephony. As of June 2015, the company has more than 100,000 subscribers. On August 20 2015, by the decision of the Public Services Regulatory Committee of Armenia approved the sale of 100% of Orange Armenia's stake to Ucom Company.
To recall, World Vision first came to Armenia for providing emergency aid to the victims of December 1988 devastating earthquake.
