It is really ridiculous to see Azeri delegates appear at PACE with calls against intolerance and hatred, the head of the Armenian delegation to PACE Naira Zohrabyan said at PACE's summer session on Friday.
"It is strange to hear such calls from representatives of a country where the Human Rights Defender says that Ramil Safarov, the killer of a sleeping Armenian officer, is a hero and a role model, where politicians say that Armenians must be killed in Karabakh rather than in other countries, where the President voices threats in each and every speech, where a 12-year-old Azeri girl says that she wants to become a sniper so as to kill Armenians," Zohrabyan said.
At the same time, she urged PACE to be consistent in dealing with specific problems so as not to give the Azeri delegates a pretext for saying that it is losing its influence and may soon be dissolved. To remind, earlier Azeri delegate to PACE Samed Seidov said that fight with hatred must be a top priority for PACE or it will lose its influence in Europe and may soon disappear.
