Tbilisi. Georgian President, Mikheil Saakashvili,
says, he is going to engage in raising the level of political education in the
country after expiry of his term in office - President said at a joint news
conference with NATO Secretary General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, in Tbilisi, on
June 27.
Presidential elections in Georgia are
scheduled for October 2013. Under the Constitution, Saakashvili cannot run in
presidential race, as he was already re-elected for the second term in 2008.
"I want to work on raising political
awareness and education standards. I am concerned, why there are problems
because of the lack of basic standards and knowledge. I will do my best to stay
on the side of politics that is called education and awareness rising. I do not
know how to do it yet, but our problem certainly lies in the lack of basic
education," Saakashvili stressed.
