ArmInfo. In our country, quite often people cannot get the disability group that they are entitled to by law, so we initiated some changes in this area. Zaruhi Batoyan, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, stated this on March 21 at the meeting of the standing parliamentary commission for the protection of human rights and public issues. She noted that the changes were in 2 parts - cosmetic and deeper. "We very much hope that in the near future these changes will be implemented and the problems will be finally resolved," Batoyan said.
The minister noted that earlier, the government itself bought various prostheses or wheelchairs for people with limited abilities. "Now this system has changed a little. We issue certificates to people, and they can choose the necessary accessories for themselves," the Minister stressed. She noted that the ministry is also making efforts to employ people with disabilities.Batoyan also reported on changes in the law "On domestic violence". "This law has been in effect for a year, and cases of domestic violence continue, that is, it is not able to fully protect the rights of women. In addition, there are contradictions in the law itself. In general, we strive to ensure that the rights of women and men in the republic are completely equal "- stressed the Minister. According to Batoyan, a program is also being conducted to provide psychological assistance to trafficked victims.
