ArmInfo.Head of the RA State Control Service David Sanasaryan is pleased that in the new Armenia the Commission on ethics of high-ranking officials, like any other, is not constrained in its decisions and can act freely within the framework of its authority. He stated this on March 21 in an interview with journalists.
The early ethics commission of high-ranking officials, responding to the statement of YSU Rector Aram Simonyan, issued a decision stating that David Sanasaryan did not contribute to building trust and respect for his position and to the body represented by his activities. And the decision of the commission Sanasaryan can appeal within a month.
Meanwhile, according to Sanasaryan, if we consider the activities of the Commission for the entire period of its operation, it will become obvious that, in fact, it was passive. And only thanks to the statement of Aram Simonyan and the policy of the new government, as the head of the State Control pointed out, it began to function.
The decision of the Commission, as noted by David Sanasaryan, will be appealed. <The commission should not have initiated proceedings against him. In addition, according to him, the justification, which formed the basis of production, is not justified>, - he said. At the same time, as the head of the Control Service pointed out, it is possible that some of his statements were emotional for a civil servant, but this was due to the fact that he had not previously occupied state posts, but was engaged in purely opposition activities.
On the question of whether Sanasaryan sees intentional intent in this and whether "black clouds" are hovering his head, "he said that he has had such a feeling for at least recent 10 years, but he continues to draw conclusions from all that is happening today.
To recall, on February 26, the Commission on ethics of high-ranking officials, based on a statement by the rector of Yerevan State University (YSU) Aram Simonyan, initiated proceedings on the grounds of Sanasaryan's alleged violation of ethical rules. Simonyan in his statement indicated that Sanasaryan had publicly stated about the abuses allegedly revealed at YSU before summing up the investigation in the manner prescribed by law. The statement also mentions Sanasaryan's posts on the social network Facebook, which, according to Simonyan, were aimed at creating a negative attitude towards YSU. In a statement, Simonyan named those voiced by Sanasaryan during a meeting convened in this year January press conference statements are nothing but pressure from him on law enforcement.
