ArmInfo.Armenia and Bulgaria, before the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission to be held in 2021, outlined a rather ambitious agenda of cooperation. This became known during the meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan with the delegation of Bulgaria, headed by the Minister of Transport, Communications and IT Rosen Zhelyazkov.
According to the government's press service, Avinyan noted that the holding of the 8th meeting of the Armenian-Bulgarian Intergovernmental Commission will be an incentive for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries. In turn, Minister Zhelyazkov noted that he had arrived in Armenia with representatives of more than 30 Bulgarian enterprises, which testifies to the high interest of Bulgaria in the Armenian market.During the meeting, the interlocutors also touched upon opportunities for cooperation in the field of high technologies, in particular, in the field of digitalization, development of fiber-optic high-speed networks, cybersecurity, etc. In addition, they discussed issues related to air transportation and building partnerships in the field of multimodal freight.It should be noted that, according to the data of the RA Statistical Committee, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Bulgaria in 2018 made $ 259.1 million with an annual decline of 19.6%. In particular, exports decreased by 23.8% to $ 215.2 million, while imports grew by 9.5% to $ 43.7 million.
