ArmInfo.Dear citizens of Yerevan today we are implementing our long-cherished dream, freeing up the area around the Opera building and returning to this place the  atmosphere of the cultural center, Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan stated.

The mayor stressed that this is the beginning of the process, and it  will be long. "I am grateful to all Yerevan residents for the fact  that they support us in this issue, we feel your support. Let's  return to Yerevan its cultural image," concluded Marutyan.

To note, protest actions against the demolition of a cafe outside the  Opera building in Yerevan continued today in the capital. Protesters  demand to stop the dismantling of the cafe. Today, 16 participants of  the action were driven.

To recall, despite the protests, the prefect of the Yerevan community  of the Center, Viktor Mnatsakanyan, said that the cafe's dismantling  work will continue, explaining that two objects are being demolished,  which are located on the "first line" of the theater square ("Jazve"  and "Atlantic>). He stated that he did not understand the reaction of  the protesters, since the dismantling was announced within a month,  and the cafe owners were informed about the planned works. As for the  "Meghedi" cafe, it will not be torn down, Mnatsakanyan assured. "We  are going to have a trial with the cafe" Shokoladnitsa ", but in the  future this cafe will also be demolished," said Mnatsakanyan,  assuring that as soon as the dismantling works are over, the Yerevan  Municipality will immediately begin greening these territories,  noting that for the implementation of these works was invited  landscape designer from Holland.
