ArmInfo. The wording in the US State Department report on the Karabakh issue is not acceptable. The spokesman for Artsakh President David Babayan said this in an interview with ArmInfo correspondent, commenting on the State Department's report on human rights for 2019.
At the same time, he noted that the wording "separatists" and "occupation of territories" regarding the Karabakh problem periodically find a place in the reports of the US State Department. "Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora need to make efforts and work in the direction that such language should no longer find a place in international documents," Babayan said.
At the same time, he noted that the Turkish-Azerbaijani lobby, which spends a lot of money to promote its interests, contributes to the emergence of these formulations.
To note, the Armenian Foreign Ministry refused to comment on this part of the State Department report.
To recall, the USA Department of State Human Rights Report for 2018 states: " Separatists, with Armenia's support continued to control most of Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding Azerbaijani territories." The report also notes that the final status of Artsakh remains the subject of discussion within the framework of the international mediation mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group.
