Kim Bakshi was born in Moscow. Mother - nee Kochergina, Russian, comes from the city of Karachev, Orel province. Father was born in Simferopol, according to his son - Karaite by nationality. Sam K. N. Bakshi also considers himself Karaite.
In 1954 he graduated from the journalism department of the philological faculty of Moscow State University. He began his literary activity in 1957 with essays and stories about virgin soil, where he worked as a tractor driver and combine harvester. Member of the CPSU since 1957. Since 1963, engaged in the ancient culture of Armenia. About the Armenian manuscripts and the fate of the people tell his books <Eagle and Sword>, <Fate and Stone>, <Resurrection of St. Lazarus>. His 20-series television film Matenadaran was awarded the State Prize of Armenia and the Fridtjof Nansen International Prize. And the collection of essays "From the Monastery of Love" is an award of the Pan-Armenian Union AGBU (New York - Vienna).
