ArmInfo. The situation at the border is calm, and there have been no incidents that would deserve attention, on Feb. 21, Artak Davtyan, Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, told reporters after a reception on the occasion of Defender of the Fatherland Day at the Russian Embassy in Armenia, referring to information about the destruction of the Armenian drone in the Aghdam direction.
"The NKR Defense Army will soon make a statement regarding the statements of the Azerbaijani side about the Armenian drone allegedly shot down by them, since this issue falls within their area of responsibility. I personally do not know about the loss of any aircraft from the Armenian side," the Head of the General Staff noted. Yesterday the Artsakh Defense Army refuted to ArmInfo the information of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan about the destruction of the Armenian drone. A Spokesman for Artsakh Defense Army, Senor Hasratyan in particular, said: "At the moment, there is no such information. If something happens, the society will be informed about it in a timely manner."
In addition, today the press service of NKR made a statement in which it considered nonrandom that this kind of misinformation spreads when the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group are in the region. "We would also like to remind that, as always, the Artsakh Armed Forces have all the capabilities for the safe use of all types of their UAVs. We assure that we will continue to use them in daily activities in the future, and quite purposefully," NKR Defense Ministry noted. Earlier, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry spread the information that allegedly on February 21, during the daytime hours in the Aghdam direction, the Armenian tactical unmanned vehicle (UAV) X-55 tried to reconnoiter the positions of the Azerbaijani troops, but the units of the Azerbaijani Air Defense forces immediately detected and shot down the enemy drone.
