Earlier it was reported that Alexander Sargsyan donated 18.5 million dollars to the state as a gift. "Within the framework of various criminal cases and investigative actions initiated against Alexander Sargsyan, the latter voluntarily donated an amount equivalent to $ 18.5 million to the state," the statement reads.
According to Vanetsyan, after the completion of the preliminary investigation, the result on it will be fully published. "Believe me, if there were no grounds, the amount of $ 18.5 million would not have been transferred to Sargsyan to the state," he said. The remaining $ 11.5 million must be transferred within the framework of the tax debt held by Sargsyan after the completion of the investigation. Earlier it was reported that Sargsyan's accounts in one of the Armenian banks found $ 30 million and seized them. In one of the statements, the brother of the former president called for lifting the arrest, promising to give part of the amount to the state. Recently, according to Pashinyan, Sargsyan decided to return the full amount to the budget. It should be noted that 62-year-old Alexander Sargsyan, better known as Sashik, was a MP of the National Assembly in 2003-2011, the press associated his name with numerous businesses. Since last summer, he has been charged with fraud under Article 178 of the RA Criminal Code. In respect of Alexander Sargsyan, a written undertaking not to leave the city was chosen as a preventive measure.
