ArmInfo. In Armenia, penalties and fines imposed on taxi drivers and heavy vehicles for late repayment of previous fines will be amnestied. The amendments to the law "On Amnesty in respect of fines applied for a number of administrative offenses" and in the Law "On State Duty" were approved at a government meeting on February 21.
Presenting the draft amendments, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Armenia Hakob Arshakyan said that amnesties are subject to fines accumulated until August 31, 2018. In total, individuals and legal entities that transport heavy loads and carry out a taxi service that violated traffic rules will be subject to the amnesty. About 6 thousand taxi drivers who transported without licenses will be exempt from paying fines assessed for lack of permits. In other words, as the Minister noted, if there is a fine of 927 million drams, 627 million drams will be written off.
The package will be submitted to the country's parliament in the format of an urgent discussion.
