ArmInfo. Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly for Foreign Relations Rubrn Rubinyan on February 15 accepted the delegation of the NATO Liaison Department in the South Caucasus, headed by the Rosary of Pulizi.
According to the parliamentary press service, Rubinyan noted that cooperation with NATO is one of the priority tasks of Armenia's foreign policy, and the republic will continue cooperation with NATO in all existing formats.In this context, the parties discussed the role of parliamentary diplomacy in relations with NATO, in connection with which Rubinyan noted that the NA committee on external relations is ready to actively contribute to the active implementation of the parliamentary cooperation agenda with NATO.
The parties also discussed the process of developing democracy, as well as the forthcoming reforms in Armenia, in connection with which the Pugisi initiative noted that the changes in Armenia will certainly have a positive impact on the region. .During the meeting, the sides also touched upon the issue of the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh issue. Rubinyan noted that the Karabakh conflict is a question of the realization of the right of the Artsakh people to self-determination. The parties also discussed the importance of eliminating bellicose rhetoric and the need for constructive steps to solve the problem. Rubinyan and Pulizi expressed readiness for closer cooperation.
