ArmInfo. Residents of border communities of Armenia will continue to enjoy a number of benefits. The government of the country at a meeting on February 15 approved a decision on the redistribution of subsidized funds to pay for the cost of water, gas and electricity.
According to Minister of Territorial Administration and Development of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan, 928, 9 million drams will be allocated to solve the task by the state budget in 2019. Funds will be provided to 2 communities of the Ararat region, one community of Gegharkunik region, 2 communities of Vayots Dzor region and 11 communities of Tavush region.
Residents of these settlements will be able to pay the cost of irrigation water, gas and electricity at a discount of 50%. Grants for irrigation water will be provided through the State Committee for Water Management, and for electricity and gas - by regional administrations. The decision, as noted by the Minister, will improve the living conditions of the residents of these communities.
