ArmInfo. On February 8, the Government of Armenia at an extraordinary meeting approved the program of activities of the Cabinet of Ministers for the next 5 years. The document will be sent to the parliament today and, according to the regulations, must be approved within 7 days.
As stated by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, the program, after its submission on February 6, was finalized and all proposals were taken into account. "I think that we have a good program, a large, complex, with the right structure, a set of principles on the basis of which such documents should be built," he said. As Grigoryan pointed out, numerical values will be reflected in the sectoral programs which will be submitted after approval of this document.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in turn, noted that the program is fully consistent with the conceptual views of the Cabinet. The prime minister recalled that the executive branch proclaimed the concept of an economic revolution and this program gives it a start. "I want us to clearly state that the government considers itself an organizer of the process, whose main mission is to create opportunities for individuals and legal entities," he said. The Head of Government assured that the Cabinet would do everything to make these opportunities real, tangible , not declarative. In the near future, according to the Prime Minister, a draft government structure will be submitted to parliament. It is also expected that a package of tax changes and then the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia will be submitted to the legislative body for consideration.
To recall, the Armenian government on February 6 failed to approve the program of activities for the upcoming 5 years. The approval was postponed due to a number of technical problems and time was given until the morning of Friday, February 8, to finalize the document. Presenting the draft document, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan stressed that over the next five years, the government's activities will focus on the development of high technologies, industry, and the formation of an economy based on high environmental standards aimed at exporting competitive and innovative products. The program of the government, as indicated by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, was developed on the basis of the election program of the "My Step" bloc. Nevertheless, expert circles pointed out the absence of specific planned indicators, as well as the timing of their achievement.
