ArmInfo. Gagik Tsarukyan has nothing to do with the events of March 1, 2008. This is stated in the statement of the "Prosperous Armenia" party. In the statement, in particular, it is noted that, yesterday on the Public Television of Armenia, Tigran Paskevichyan's documentary "The Lost Spring of Armenia" about the events of March 1, 2008 was shown.
"In this film it was said that on March 1, the authorities allegedly issued military uniforms to the members of Gagik Tsarukyan's guard. This information is not true, which Gagik Tsarukyan himself repeatedly noted. If the film was really a documentary, then its authors should have also presented the opinion of the opposite side, and not spread misinformation on public televsion, which broadcasts through public funds. The fact that Gagik Tsarukyan has always supported the people, and on March 1, 2008 was no exception, even the most opposition media noted that fact, including the newspaper "Haikakan Zhamanak", which was headed by the current Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at that time, in its publication of August 1, 2008. The part of the film, which refers to the participation of Tsarukyan in the events of March 1, is subjective and does not respond to the reality. Dissemination of inappropriate information is unacceptable for the television company, which is funded by taxpayers, "the statement reads.
The statement also notes that Gagik Tsarukyan has repeatedly stated that all those involved in the events of March 1 should be punished, and those who spread disinformation should be held accountable for slander.
