ArmInfo. Russia is interested in the successful implementation of the reforms outlined by the new authorities of Armenia. Alexander Krylov, President of the Scientific Society of Caucasian Caused Studies, Chief Researcher at IMEMO RAN announced this, during the Yerevan-Moscow spacebridge.
According to him, despite the initiated internal reforms, the new authorities of Armenia declared the continuation and continuity of
the foreign policy course, which is already positive. "If the new authorities do not succeed in their reforms, they will lose the trust and expectations of society, this, in turn, may lead to a change of power, the arrival of new forces with an unpredictable foreign policy course. This cannot but worry Russia, therefore it closely watches in the course of the implementation of reforms in Armenia and in every way interested in their success, "the expert assured.
Analyzing the situation in the post-Soviet area, Krylov noted that the aspirations of societies in almost all countries are healthy, but it is another thing that contradicts the policies pursued by the ruling elites, which, due to their narrow personal interests and greed, boil down to the impoverishment of the people and the loss of the international image of countries. "It is from this angle that the revolution in Armenia should be considered the people wanted to get rid of such a ruling elite ", - explained the expert.
In turn, the chairman of the organization "Dialogue" operating in Russia, Yuri Navoyan, also noted with satisfaction the readiness of the new authorities of Armenia to continue the foreign policy course of their predecessors. At the same time, he expressed concern about some "careless" statements of the members of the team of Prime Minister Pashinyan on the Armenian-Russian relations, which could lead to a certain misunderstanding between the parties. He stressed that Armenian-Russian relations should be institutional in nature, public dialogue should be established, and interaction should not be limited to meetings of heads of state. Navoyan expressed confidence that the tandem Nikol Pashinyan-Armen Sarkissian will be able to bring Armenia to a new level of development.
