ArmInfo.The National Security Service disclosed a criminal scheme with the participation of an official from the State Revenue Committee of Armenia. This is reported by the press service of the National Security Service.
According to the source, according to preliminary data, a group of persons organized the shipment of a consignment of goods, including vegetables, fruits, clothes, and others from Georgia, Turkey and other countries.
The goods delivered to the Armenian-Georgian border were left for storage in private houses in the village of Sadakhlo, as well as in the neutral zone, after which they were issued to individuals as their baggage. Thus, these citizens were able to avoid payment of fees. These goods did not pass due diligence and quarantine control in a special laboratory of the State Food Safety Service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Armenia.
This scheme was disclosed on January 15, 2019, when it became obvious that the same resident of Alaverdi had transported almost a ton of vegetables and fruits in different cars for 1 day.According to the preliminary data, such operations were carried out with the assistance of the chief customs inspector of the Bagratashen checkpoint of the Armenian state group, for a fee.In fact, a criminal case was initiated, the organizer of transportation and the customs officer were charged. Both are under arrest. Measures are taken to establish the identity of other participants in this scheme.
