ArmInfo.Despite the statements, the head of the executive power of Nikol Pashinyan that there is no corruption in Armenia, the governors appointed by him and the mayor of Yerevan carried out actions that are characterized as corrupt deals. This is stated in the statement of the "Yerkir Tsirani" party.
According to the party, awarding mayor Hayk Marutyan with employees of the municipality of prizes, as well as prizes awarded by the governors to themselves and other employees, are manifestations of velvet corruption. At the same time, representatives of the party point out that in the case of the mayor's office, it is not at all clear who awarded them and on what basis.
The party citing the law "On public office and remuneration of persons holding public office," stresses that you can reward only employees who have worked in the same position for at least six months and especially distinguished themselves for their work during this period. "As a result of" velvet corruption "by the governors, the prizes were received by people who held public office just a couple of months, then less than the time provided for by the law. Both with the former and the new authorities, abuse and corruption persisted in the higher echelons. "Yerkir Tsirani " party condemns the work of Nikol Pashinyan over the past 9 months and accuses him of continuing the dictatorial system of government and preserving the practice of corrupt transactions in the highest circles of Armenian power," the statement reads. Meanwhile, today the head of the faction "My step" Lilith Makunts said that the actions of the governors do not contradict the law. To recall, on January 20 a number of governors of Armenia wrote out bonuses for themselves and a number of employees, in the amount from half to full monthly salary. Governor of the Ararat region Gagik Sargsyan wrote out, for example, 104% of his monthly salary, about 700 thousand drams. At the same time, the same Sargsyan previously found it difficult to answer the question of the Prime Minister about what the area of cultivated land in the Ararat region.
